Music+ The Gangā
An immersive retreat into Kirtan, Yoga, Sound Healing & Indian culture
RISHIKESH. GANGOTRI. UTTARKĀSHI - INDIA
IN THE HIMĀLAYAS
18th – 26th November 2026
“Music does a lot of things for a lot of people. It’s transporting, for sure…It’s uplifting, it’s encouraging, it’s strengthening.” — Aretha Franklin
“गंग सकल मुद मंगल मूला , सब सुख करनी हरनी सब सूला"
- gaṅga sakala muda maṅgala mūlā, saba sukḥa karani harani saba sūla-
"The Gangā is the root of all joys and auspiciousness, granting all happiness, removing all pain".
Coming from the Ramcharitmānas, a revered poetic epic by the 16th-century saint-poet Tulsidas, this verse describes the divine and purifying nature of the sacred Gangā River.
The Ganga is not merely water flowing across the land; she is a sacred presence flowing through the soul, a living embodiment of heritage, culture and tradition. For centuries, seekers have stood on her banks and felt a quiet awakening. As she moves tirelessly from the mountains to the sea, she teaches us surrender, grace, and the art of letting go. Each ripple carries the wisdom of renewal; each sunrise on her banks whispers that life is a continuous offering. To behold the Ganga is to feel a doorway open within—one that leads to gratitude, humility, and a deeper connection with the divine that lives in all things.
Inspired by these thoughts, Music+ Retreats invites you to be a part of its Soul nourishing musical retreat on the banks of Mā Gangā.
If you are looking:
To pour your heart into chanting & singing - Mantras, Kīrtans, Indian rāgas.
To step on your mat each morning for yoga and pranayama as the sun rises over the stunning Himalayan mountains, dispensing a golden hue to the waves of the Gangā river.
To retreat into pristine nature for rest, relaxation and rejuvenation
To sit in the blessed presence of saints and yogis on the banks of Mā Gangā, in the ancient Temples and sacred sites in the Himālayās.
Then YES, you are in the right place and may continue reading….
In the quiet embrace of a small village called Netalā in Uttarkashi, where the Himālayās rise like ancient guardians and the air carries the fragrance of cedar and devotion, Ma Ganga flows with a rare, soul-stirring purity. It is here, on her sacred banks, that our musical retreat becomes more than a gathering—it becomes a pilgrimage of sound, silence, and self.
This retreat is an invitation to immerse yourself in the vast spaciousness and stillness of the Himalayan mountain range, to connect on a deeper level with your spirit through meditation and Yogic practices, while being warmly welcomed by the traditional culture and colourful ancient temples. This deep 9 days musical Retreat is based upon the inherent power of sound and voice as a transforming lifetime experience and discovery of a new ‘YOU’
